The wabi-sabi aesthetic is the soul of the space’s design. The design team integrated unadorned beauty and natural elements into the space, endowing it with the distinctive charm that comes from the passage of time. Renovating and redesigning old buildings is usually demanding and challenging. Removing prior traces and maintaining the original state of the building while balancing contemporary elements was difficult and key to the design. The designers experimented with spatial treatments and scales until they found their inspiration and achieved the desired effects.
