Wireless healthcare solution

IBM Corporation

IBM Design's m-Health Wireless Healthcare Solution is a set of wireless patient vital-sign monitoring devices. A patient's critical health statistics are automatically measured, stored and transmitted to a database during emergencies, hospital stays or the treatment of chronic illnesses. They are also well-suited for data gathering during clinical trials for pharmaceutical testing. The wireless heart-rate monitor and electrocardiogram sensors are contained in a package that is easily concealed beneath clothing, allowing the patient both physical and social comfort, and yet permitting constant monitoring. The scale is wirelessly connected to the display and control unit so it can be mounted at a convenient height for operation. They will transmit data to a remote database and monitoring programs.
