MALDImini-1

Mass spectrometer

Shimadzu Corporation

The MALDImini-1 is the world’s smallest mass spectrometer. It is capable of measuring proteins and other massive molecules without damaging them and is even capable of analyzing their complex molecular structures. Based on technology developed independently by Shimadzu and sophisticated analytical capabilities, the MALDImini-1 can perform even the most challenging analyses quickly, thereby furthering the development of effective drugs using biotechnology. A spectrometer is usually a large instrument, but by shrinking it down to ultra-compact size, this system can be used for mass spectrometry in a broader range of locations.
