Originally known for its ceramics, MARUWA, located in Seto City, Aichi, Japan, has evolved into a global leader in ceramic chips manufacturing. Building on MARUWA’s global connectivity, Gensler and Takenaka designed the factory as a "Bridge" connecting the company to the community and the world, while also providing a link to local tradition for the next generation. This "Bridge" concept is integrated into all aspects of the design, structure, and facilities. By addressing the client's needs and considering the surrounding community in the design, this project embodies the idea of "creating a better world through the power of design."
