The MDR-SA5000 is a pair of natural fitting stereo headphones featuring high-quality sound technology that supports Super Audio CD. Starting with the idea that people just want to enjoy their music tension-free, without a trace of discomfort, the designer sought to create a set of headphones so comfortable the wearer could forget he or she had them on. Doing away with the conventional structure that covers everything, an open frame structure was introduced for the housing, resulting in substantial weight reduction. The headband fits gently and distributes pressure by spreading contact with the head over a broad area. The head pad mesh also makes the product appear lighter. The ear pads use a low rebound urethane cushion, which distributes the pressure around the ears uniformly to achieve a lighter and more natural fit.
