Memorial Exhibition

YHC Architects

The Treaty of Shimonoseki signed due to the defeat from the Japanese invasion of Taiwan resulted in Japan gaining the dominion over Taiwan and Penghu. In the year following the signing of the Treaty (1895, Yi-Wei Year), four battles broke out in Dananwei, Anping Township, Longtanpi, Dagangan in the Taoyuan area, and the "Battle of Anping Township" was one of the battles that the Japanese didn’t win. The 1895 Yi-Wei Defense of Taiwan against the Japanese and Memories of the Yi-Wei Defense Exhibition Hall, where the curation is located, was built and planned to remember this unknown historical event.
