Metro Harbin

Metro vehicle

The metro vehicle for Harbin, a city located in north east China, is the first vehicle built upon a new construction platform from the Chinese rail manufacturer CNR. Characteristic elements to the vehicle include a flat glass windscreen with integrated forward facing emergency exit, all enclosed in a single band. The vehicle appears to be floating above the coupling. The design of the bright and friendly interior is accented by the formed passenger seating. Handrails and lighting are assigned to the outer extents of the interior leaving the ceiling free for the state of the art installed climate control.

iF Gold Statement

This vehicle for the Harbin metro is particularly special and cutting edge, with an esthetically pleasing design never before seen in the sector. This fresh, new quality is particularly visible in the austere, pared-down lines of the vehicle. The colors are extremely restrained and applied with great consistency. Each coach is welcoming, bright and inviting, so that the space as a whole seems larger and every seat seems roomy. A great modernization of a metro in a particularly unique style.
