MINUS

Scale

The idea behind MINUS is a scale that works with the concept of subtraction. “How much does this tomato weigh and how much will it cost me?” Supermarkets usually display prices per, for example, 500 grams, which makes it difficult for customers to tell the exact price for the piece of fruit or veg they want to buy. The MINUS scale sits underneath the box and if a piece of fruit or veg is taken out of the box, its weight will be subtracted from the total and its price will be shown on the display. If customers then want to buy the item, they can have a price tag printed.

JURY STATEMENT

It is highly rated from the point of view that it makes grocery shopping more convenient by simplifying the routine process of selecting, weighing and getting price tags.

WINNER STATEMENT

I'm so glad to get such a great prize as a product designer; I'll go forward to be more than a designer. I share this glory with all of you who have believed in me.
