Miyashita Park, completed in 1964, was an elevated public park with an underground parking lot. The renovation was necessary because it had deteriorated structurally and was not earthquake-safe. The new park is located 17 m above ground on top of a multi-story mall with commercial facilities, a parking lot, and a high-rise hotel at one end. The project aims to create a high-quality urban infrastructure that accommodates a wide variety of people and lifestyles by dynamically combining these elements.
