Furniture System Series

The design of this furniture system reflects the use of pure materials, easy tool-free assembly and disassembly, easy replacement of defective parts, and perhaps most important, clean, reduced form lines. The central element in the furniture series is a universal connection piece, the ‘furniture base’, into which the steel frames are simply inserted. This type of connection determines the character of the design and gives the furniture stability. The series stands out by its discreet elegance, self-explanatory functionality and durable aesthetics.

WINNER STATEMENT

The furniture system "möbel kombinat" was developed as a part of my bachelor thesis "Productdesign in the GDR - Transfer 2012". I am very glad that this work wins the IF Award even without the theoretical packground. And so satisfies the actual social, ecological and economical challenges.
