Lowlands is an annual, three-day pop and culture festival held in August. The website www.lowlands.nl gets over a million visitors around festival time. The first version of Lowlands.nl was designed by Fabrique in 1998, in cooperation with Peter Te Bos. It was a “funny” site, in which atmosphere was more important than a perfect overview and easy navigation. Ever since that time, Fabrique and Peter Te Bos have designed a new Lowlands website every year – always recognizable, but always different from the last one. As usual, this year’s Lowlands 2004 site is WILD! The visitor gets no rest, thanks to animation, films, illustrations and sound loops. Due to its clearly written, straightforward content and its ever-surprising visual design, the website makes a key contribution to the “Lowlands lifestyle“.
