Moongchi clock is designed from a strong fascination for magical iron fillings showing the direction of a magnetic field. The black iron fillings come to life around magnets, forming unique patterns and textures under influence of the magnetic field. The clock uses these black iron fillings instead of your conventional hour, minute and second hand. Because the iron fillings in moving magnetic field behaves in an unpredictable way, it gives the perception that hour and minute dot are living creatures dancing in a circle to tell the time while a spinning second hand is making an art-piece that’s literally dynamic with every passing second.
