Inserting a minimally invasive device, such as a stent or heart valve, into the human body is currently a mechanical process using catheter-based delivery systems. With more complex instruments being inserted further into the body and in difficult-to-reach locations, delivery is becoming more problematic. This requires more applied force and bigger movements, compromising accuracy and precision. Inspired by the design of professional gaming control and interaction devices, Motus/D, a motor-driven stent delivery system, eliminates these problems.
