Mr. Kombucha’s Lab II

Product and service series (machine, bag, etc. )

Mr. Kombucha’s Lab II is a resource-sharing platform that promotes using SCOBY, a high-performance fiber material derived from kombucha production, as a biomaterial. The project includes experimental SCOBY samples, a mobile incubator, sustainable bag designs, and workshops. While many designers explore SCOBY’s potential, current methods are often too complex for everyday use. This project simplifies the entire SCOBY lifecycle—from cultivation to degradation—enhancing its accessibility and usability. Its goal is to guide people in utilizing SCOBY for DIY household products, to reduce dependence on leather and plastic.
