Mr. Pip's Double Cross
Board game packaging
Mr. PipDouble Cross is a new take on the classic dice game known under many names, including Liar's Dice, Bluff and Mexicali. The packaging needed to be versatile for shipping, to be intuitive at the point of sale, and to highlight the brand's commitment to creating “fewer better things”. The two halves made of pulp cardboard can be shipped stacked. The tessellating form reduces the shipping and storage volume by one-third, and has an iconic look at the point of sale. Rubber bands allow users to open the packaging at the point of sale without damage. The biodegradable pulp can be recycled, or will decompose, representing a reduction in waste for future generations.
iF Gold Statement
The jury was won over by the sculpture-like shape and outstanding shelf performance. Modularly stackable in a creative way, the product itself also doubles as a piece of art for display. The creative use of paper pulp for the outer skin and the graphics playfully communicate. Overall a memorable and well-executed product.
