Recycled plastics fabric

IKEA

The Musselblomma collection is made from recycled plastics, including plastic waste collected on the Spanish coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Designed by Inma Bermúdez, the collection is inspired by the shapes and colors of the sea. The project was developed in collaboration with Seaqual, an initiative dedicated to cleaning the oceans of waste for which 1,500 Spanish fishermen help collect plastics from the sea. These plastics are then processed into the raw material used in this IKEA collection. The entire supply and production chain is also located in Spain and it is a collection with zero margin.
