My Farmer My Story
Agri-Education for impact
FESY
FESY-Rwanda in partnership with RP-IPRC Musanze, under the sponsorship of AFAAS. The project used a mentorship approach by linking a student to 2 farmers in the neighborhood of the school with the aims of transforming traditional agriculture into a professionally operated and market-oriented undertaking. This was done by promotion of professionalism, specialization and technological innovations of both the farmer and the student in their practical farming practices. It successfully increased maize productivity per unit area by an average of 57% for 40 small scale farmers and practical know-how for 22 agriculture students in Northern Rwanda.
