Furniture concept

The design aim of Não Fere, a metal armchair that uses biofilm as an alternative to leather covering is to break from the norm and provoke reflection on animal exploitation and its environmental impacts. Developed using microorganisms from the kombucha drink, the biofilm can grow in any shape and size, acquire textures, pigmentation and waterproofing with natural products. The activist concept, together with its striking aspects, make the object a demonstrator for the use of a resistant, durable yet biodegradable material that proposes a new experience – furniture without the suffering of animals.
