Narrative of Stacking
Residential Interior Design
The designer had lived in this residence for 20 years and wanted to solve how to store and display an ample painting collection. The solution is the concept of “stacking” where all spatial elements, even the paintings, were regarded as single volume objects that could be stacked. The design includes an innovative system of stacked moveable walls that reveal or hide the hung paintings. Additionally, the open floorplan and generous natural light add to the feeling of home as gallery space.
