Nature-Inspired Innovation Lab

Interior Design

This project is the interior design of the Environmental Health Innovation Center, jointly built by Shimadzu and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Hangzhou. The center is a shared research hub addressing new types of pollution in water, air, and soil. Unlike traditional labs that feel cold and clinical, it places people and nature at the core. Natural materials, greenery, and lighting that changes with the time of day create a calm, inspiring atmosphere. Even during long hours, the environment reduces stress, enhances focus, and supports creativity—making it a new kind of lab that cares for both science and people.
