Corporate Headquarters / Innovation Center

Nikon Corporation

City of Light The new Nikon Global Headquarters stands on the site of a former factory once isolated from its surroundings. Now, it connects with the district as a place where employees, fans, and residents can interact and engage with Nikon. Balancing flexibility and communication, the workplace centers on a porous, multipurpose core—the “Communication Frame.” Flanked by 16-meter column-free spaces, it supports activities from focused work to dialogue and rest, fostering openness and circulation like a city streetscape. Inspired by “diverse expressions of light,” the passive design embodies Nikon’s essence and is attuned to Japan’s seasons.
