Neurointeractive Orthosis

The NIO concept is an actively controlled orthosis or exo musculature designed to bridge the gap between physiotherapy and daily practicality. NIO is meant to support people who have suffered brain injuries from a stroke or other neuronal diseases while they are in rehab. The passive movement of paralyzed body parts with the help of thought control can stimulate the corresponding areas of the brain, which leads to the regeneration of neuronal connections.

WINNER STATEMENT

As NIO was our first project together as a team and we had planned this collaboration for quite a while, we all were particularly pleased with the success of the project.
