More than 170 movies - from innovative short films to elaborate anime and blockbuster productions - were shown at the Japanese film festival NIPPON CONNECTION 2007 in Frankfurt am Main, the biggest platform for Japanese cinema outside Japan. The concept is based on the huge contradictions that exist in Japan. The typical contradictory Japanese way of life - everyday life steeped in high-tech gadgets yet defined by the calm and self-controlled Japanese manner - is reflected in the four themes of the campaign. Traditional items are placed in a modern context with the design vocabulary of subway lines.
