Nippon Connection – Exchanging Tracks

CD packaging

Nippon Connection – Exchanging Tracks, a three-CD compilation presenting re-interpretations of traditional Japanese music, is the debut of the music label. It is the result of a cooperation between the label and Frankfurt’s Japanese film festival Nippon Connection. Coming with an exceptional packaging inspired by movies it contains a flip-book with a sequence of a kendo fight. The Japanese swordfighter is a parable for the three musical levels of the project: Kigen (tradition), moku so (meditation) and shikake (attack). Crossing diagonals symbolize the intercultural exchange, the all-over visual concept communicates the musical aspiration of the project.
