Zodiac signs are very important in Chinese culture. NiuLanShan is a bestseller in the Chinese liquor market. "Niu" means "ox" in Chinese, so the Year of the Ox was a propitious time to launch a zodiac edition. The design avoids any figurative representations of the ox and takes instead an abstract approach. The bottle cap and shape is a nod to ox horns, the ox's head, or the bull's ring. The bottle relies on sharp, straight lines, expressing the uncompromising spirit of the ox. The calligraphy logo, an elongated vertical rendition of "Niu," completes the effect, communicating the amazing power of the ox and the fine quality of the liquor.
