The War Memorial of Korea

'OCEAN: Turtle Ship and the Raging Waves' is a media artwork that follows the journey of a military quest engulfed in danger in the sea with strong waves. It was produced for a special exhibition at the War Memorial of Korea in 2022 to commemorate the 430th anniversary of the Imjin War and displayed alongside the Turtle Ship used in the battle. The vivid 3D animation of the rough sea juxtaposed with the historical relic of the Joseon Dynasty offers a unique perspective on cultural heritage, tragedy of war, and the heroism of Admiral Yi Sun-sin (key figure of the Imjin War) and the Joseon naval forces in an affecting way.
