Old House in Wabi-Sabi

In Japanese, Wabi-Sabi means to get rid of the unnecessary and to pursue essence of nature. However, it doesn’t mean to change its origin, make it pure and insert vitality. The 50-year-old brick structure became the main issue of this project. In order to strengthen the structure, five H-formed steel beams have been used for the window frame, combined with the concept of esthetics and mechanics. This also became the structure that can afford changing while time passes. We choose nature materials such as stones, wood, metal and concrete to maintain the atmosphere of an old house. The peaceful atmosphere makes you think deeply and brings out your inner soul.
