OLPC “$100 Laptop”

Computer

The One Laptop Per Child brings learning, information and communication to children in developing countries. When closed, the entire unit is sealed, protecting it from dust and dirt; when opened, it has a whimsical and tactile richness. The Wi-Fi antennas, also called Rabbit Ears, give the OLPC a character-like personality. Everything on the laptop serves at least two purposes for a sense of economy and efficiency: Antennas double as a cover for the laptop’s USB ports; the surrounding coloured bumper is also a seal to keep out dust; the screen is a colour image screen and a high-contrast black and white screen for reading text in bright sunlight.
