Development of a flexible working prototype

NTT DoCoMo

OnQ is a cutting edge research project that explores the seamless integration of television with mobile phones. Our goal is to create a future meta-media that will allow the users to share their interests in, as well as knowledge about TV programs over a mobile network. To achieve this goal, we have invented the "Flexibly Reconfigurable Prototype," geared particularly to the planning stage. Our prototype gives us the ability to simulate various mobile functions, even if some parts of the specifications have not yet been decided. The prototype allows us to optimize basic ideas using multiple, progressive processes consisting of user testing and modification procedures. As a result, our planning activity has become far more exciting and innovative. This new design approach will help us to create blueprints for user-centered products.
