Oops WOMB
birth-control pill Service
SQUIZ Inc.
In Japanese society, the topic of contraception and the womb is taboo. The pill use rate in Japan is about 4.6%, which is still low by global standards. Psychological hurdles to taking the pill are high. Oops womb is a service to change the untouchable image about the womb in Japan. To make the pill an option for many women, we prescribe the pill easily online. And the package design is designed with a bright worldview that users will want to incorporate into their daily lives.
iF Gold Statement
Japan has been slow to adopt hormonal birth control due to social taboos and embarrassment. Oops WOMB addresses this problem through a delivery service for birth control pills. The playfully illustrated packaging reduces inhibitions and helps to present the pill as a lifestyle product. A nice example of how design can promote positive social change.
