Research magazine

Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university, publishes its Ruperto Carola research magazine twice each year. Each issue focuses on a specific sociopolitical topic. The third issue focused on two powerful antagonists: »Organization & Chaos«, and sought to identify patterns and structures across various disciplines. The university tagline, “The future since 1386”, provides the inspiration for opposites that shape the content and design of this publication. The modern typeface is used in conjunction with the traditional Ruperto Carola university seal – the red in the seal plays a major role as a type color.
