OUTRACE

Interactive installation

AUDI AG

OUTRACE – an installation by Kram/Weisshaar for the London Design Festival 2010 – supported and enabled by Audi. A pop-up factory empowering the general public to take control of eight industrial robots on loan from Audi’s production line. LEDs from the Audi R15 racecar were positioned at each robot’s tool head. Logging into outrace.org with a mobile device or a computer, a global audience as well as visitors to Trafalgar Square directed the light path held by each robotic tentacle, creating a letter trace and text message. Cameras captured the light paintings and relayed them to the project website and social media platforms to be shared.
