More than 30 million people in China suffer from speech barriers, many of them using Xiaomi's assisted communication software. One-size-fits-all voices don't reflect the difference between individuals, and can easily be mistaken for a robot when making a phone call. The current mainstream speech synthesis technology needs to read a specific text for machine learning, but the speech-impaired person can't do it. We redesigned this process by inviting a healthy donor with the most similar sound conditions to record, and generating a new sound with the style that the recipient likes.
