Panasonic D-snap SV-AV50

SD video camera

The SV-AV50 is a palm-sized multi-tool that comprises an MPEG4 camcorder, a 2 megapixel still camera, a video recorder, audio player and voice recorder. It features a unique flipping mechanism that brings the slim-body camera into "shooting mode" (unlike optical equipment, in which the lens and LC monitor are protected), and can be operated with either hand. It also easily shifts to viewer mode, not only for convenience in picture taking, but also as an elegant way to view pictures. We aimed at creating a prototype of an "everyday camcorder" that can be carried everywhere you go. The original transformation is not a gimmick; it is a design response to the need for logical and streamlined functionality. A small jog ball allows for central control on the same small surface, thus radically simplifying the interface.
