Park Axis Shinjuku Hyakunincho

Apartment Building

Park Axis Shinjuku Hyakuchincho is a 309-unit residential complex comprised of four buildings forming a square. The design is informed by the site’s history as a former research park, dating back 100 years to the pre-war “Taisho” period. The goal was to research the materiality of the old research facilities and revive them in a modern residential building, not only as a subtle reminder of the past, but for the creation of timeless quality that will last for the next 100 years. Inside, residents enjoy common facilities that support a post-pandemic lifestyle of working at home and building a stronger community among co-residents.
