PARK ROCHE
Resort architecture
HDC HOTEL IPARK
Park Roche is a wellness resort hotel located in Sugam-ri, Korea. This hotel’s design comes from the name Sugam (宿岩), which means sleeping rock. Our philosophy and inspiration are to keep the intrinsic nature of the materials. The main lobby wall is made of stones from a quarry in Jeongseon for symbolism. In addition, the design prominently features Richard Woods’ art-wall which contains white birch from a forest in Jeongseon and is designed in a shiny wood grid pattern to emphasize the spaciousness of Park Roche. The obvious directive and desire of Park Roche is to calm and relax the minds and bodies of fatigued people in modern society.
