Patient Monitoring System

Patient Monitoring System

Development of a patient monitoring system for the medical sector. In our approach, each vital sign is recognized by an independent sensor module. Because of this subdivision, the actually required sensor module can be connected individually for each patient. This reduces power consumption and production costs, sensors that are not needed have a longer lifespan and resources can be saved. When a patient is transferred, the individual module or the entire retaining system, including all modules, can be transported easily so that the patient no longer needs to be rewired.

JURY STATEMENT

This modular patient monitoring system is a highly innovative approach to a serious issue in hospitals. Sometimes modularity, as one of the favorite approaches of product designers, can go too far, but here it seems to solve all the problems and really make sense. Especially the improvement of usability and patient security are evident. Also, the advantages in terms of efficiency and environmental impact are outstanding. Furthermore, the concept is executed on an exceptional level in terms of esthetics, technical features and presentation.

WINNER STATEMENT

It is a big honor for us to receive the iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD 2016. An incredible feeling to win this award in the face of unbelievably strong competition!
