The design of the PENTAX 17 incorporates the know-how and technology that contributed significantly to the development and success of Ricoh and Pentax cameras during the decades of analogue photography. As a reminiscence of many successful products of the past, the PENTAX 17 features many details from RICOH and Pentax history, e.g. the shutter release, the lens construction, the transport lever or the rewind crank. For this purpose, we have reviewed drawings of earlier models. Some things were difficult to understand from today's point of view. Thanks to the help of former colleagues who have already retired, it became easier to understand
