Philips Hue Secure strikes a balance between fitting seamlessly into the existing lighting functionality of Philips Hue, and owning a space on the front row of the UI. It uses trusted patterns and controls, to feel as one unified experience for both new and existing users. The tone of voice is one of reassurance and clarity, informative and straightforward. When something is happening however, the security UI becomes dominant and authoritive, informing users objectively and clear, so they can make an informed assessment and act promptly. Achieving this delicate harmony in any situation has been the main design challenge.
