This 3D-printed light is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional lantern. The light effect of the crushed glass texture gives a modern twist to the timeless silhouette of this design. In this design we stretched the boundaries of 3D printing technology and used an algorithm to create a special irregular texture with a novel light effect. This texture hides the printing lines, while being true to the printing process. The texture scatters and diffuses the light on the surface. The light is comfortable to look at with no glare. Inside, the glowing core lights up in an almost ethereal way, creating depth and contrast.
