The Philips Shaver 1000 Series S1108 was developed according to user needs identified with big data. The company did research through the Tmall data bank, one of the biggest online sales channels in China, to identify relevant Gen Z consumer insights. Philips used the online testing platform of Tmall to generate solutions to shaving pain points, as well as identify design preferences among Gen Z consumers. This shaver was developed according to those insights, providing functional benefits (quick clean with fewer passes) as well as meeting aesthetic design preferences (cool, futuristic design).
