As a photographer, Benjamin Katz has followed the artist Georg Baselitz for many years, documenting him in black and white either as a person or as an artist at work. The publication was issued on the occasion of the “Photo contact. Benjamin Katz : Georg Baselitz” exhibition in the Arts and Exhibition Hall in Germany, parallel to the “Baselitz: Pictures that turn heads” exhibition. Besides individual photos, it is the photo sequences in particular that catch the eye. These show Baselitz at work and in one case extend over six fold-out pages.
