Each year, only about one-fifth of the 30 billion tons of PET produced worldwide is recycled into rPET. In Taiwan, PET recovery reaches 97% with an 83.7% reuse rate, led by Far Eastern Group’s circular initiatives. Studio Smoll and Far Eastern Group developed the fully recyclable P+L Backpack using rPET made from surplus materials in the PET recycling process—enhancing overall efficiency. By merging European vegetable-tanned leather with innovative recycled fabrics, it embodies a lifestyle that unites heritage craftsmanship, modern sustainability, and circular design.
