Foresting Tool

Efficient reforestation doesn‘t start with planting new trees in the forest. It starts long before that. Seedlings must first be cultivated, and a healthy root system is crucial for early growth. However, often the roots get damaged during transplantation. The trees are still planted in the forest but only have a small chance of growing into healthy trees. Current uprooting methods are neither efficient nor healthy for forestry workers. PS is a tool that uproots seedlings effectively without damaging the roots. The tool encourages an ergonomic posture and thus empowers the user.

JURY STATEMENT

These tools solve the problem of getting vulnerable young plants to grow and thus contributes to reforestation. The tools look simple but are effective in their materialization.

WINNER STATEMENT

We feel really honored to receive the iF Talent Award 2022 for our project. The focus throughout the whole process has been the user and our future on this earth. We’re really thankful we can play our role in an exciting future.
