Museum bookstore and café

Colonized Taiwan had become an art testing ground for aggressive Japanese architects, and they built many new buildings everywhere in Taiwan. Sutejiro Umezawa built the Chiayi Municipal Art Museum. The building is of historical significance because of its architecture. The designer had to pay close attention to the construction process to preserve the historical site properly in its original form, blend its original style with contemporary design, and meet construction requirements. Once completed, the designer’s innovative design techniques and modern aesthetics gave the building added value.
