The movie Porsche 917 is to make the fascination of this legendary vehicle experienceable. Scattered all over the world, the remaining cars were photographed down to the very least detail. Thousands of pictures were then used to create a digital double, which resembles the original 917 until the smallest traces of use. With the help of a simulated race, the automobiles history of development is explained. The frameless super wide format 32:9 even underlines the dynamic of the race situation: loud, fast and in an editing sequence and with a camera work that would have never been possible with the existing stock footage.
