Projeto Gunta

Textile collection

Projeto Gunta is a textile collection inspired by the life and work of Gunta S., revolutionary for being the first woman from the Bauhaus art school to become a master and run a workshop, transforming the textile sector - space neglected by men - in the most successful in the school's history. To develop this project in practice, it was necessary to get closer to her work and ideals, and the industrial jacquard on site. “Do not run away from chaos, but take from it things that seem useful to represent life and give them form.” Gunta, 1919. The research material was provided by Monika and Ariel, daughter and grandson of the artist.
