Puuvilla Society: NFTs as a new service tool

Puuvilla, meaning 'cotton' in Finnish, is a mysterious character created by Shinsegae Department Store in 2017. Since then, he has appeared in many seasonal campaigns, collaborating with various brands. In June 2022, Shinsegae issued 10,000 PFP (Profile for Picture) NFTs using the Puuvilla character. It was a first time that a retail venue in Korea created a self-made character PFP NFT with online and offline store benefits. These randomly generated PFP NFTs depending on their rankings, offered special benefits at Shinsegae department stores, such as valet service and VIP lounge access, and discounts to holders.
