Current humanitarian demining equipment is heavy, hot and uncomfortable, made from Polycarbonate and carbon fibres, affecting concentration in the field and causing de-miners to remove protection with fatal consequences. Response: A complete redesign of protective equipment including body armour and mask, first to reach the market is the ballistic facemask: The ravelin ballistic facemask is the first product to utilize the new PURE composite ™ which is lightweight (50% of PC), cheap (90% less than carbon fibres), UV resistant and mouldable to a close fit. White for sun reflection. PURE is 100% PP and eco- friendly.

iF Gold Statement

Materials Look & Feel – selected by Aart van Bezooyen Due to the intelligent use and treatment of material this facemask provides a particularly high degree of safety. By using the new PURE composite material, the mask’s weight comes to only 500g, a 50% reduction compared to polycarbonate. This results in a significant improvement especially for those working in humanitarian demining. The visor is close to the eyes to provide better protection and less distortion; it is also scratch-proof and can be easily exchanged. Besides its excellent esthetics, the mask is well thought through and perfectly crafted, according to the verdict of the jury.
