Design agency 3pc was tasked with the relaunch of the website of The Federal Commissioner for the Records of the State Security Service of the former German Democratic Republic (BStU), otherwise known as the "Stasi." One of the fruits of the project was how 3pc was able to strengthen the importance of the archive for the present and future. The new design, an improved UX and other services have created a compellingly short user-journey to the information they are looking for. This is the first time 3pc has used artificial intelligence to provide users with additional information. The website's storytelling approach tells the story of the Stasi using original documents and other material. The goal is to energize historical knowledge about the former East German agency, especially for younger audiences.
